PWYP –Ghana to host Extraordinary General Meeting in Accra

Coalition Members of Publish What You Pay Ghana (PWYP-Ghana) are expected to converge in Accra this week for an extraordinary General meeting to review and evaluate its programmes and activities in Ghana in line with the Coalition’s new Global Strategy 2030.

The meeting, to be held on the theme, ‘Building Together’ is being organised by PWYP-Ghana,in collaboration with the Integrated Social Development Centre (ISODEC).  

The convening is expected to bring together key stakeholders in the fight for transparency in natural resource governance, while serving as an important platform to review the Coalition’s progress, address pressing issues, and align the organization’s activities with its mission.

PWYP’s new global vision is one in which societies are governing their natural resources in just and equitable ways in harmony with the planet and with a mission is to empower communities in their pursuit of equitable governance of natural resources and justice for all in the energy transition, within the natural limits of the planet. 

The convening, which is scheduled for Wednesday, March 26, 2025, will include a comprehensive agenda focusing on the ongoing work of PWYP-Ghana and the future direction of the Coalition. Key topics for discussion will include: 

1. A review and evaluation of PWYP-Ghana’s activities and operations.  

2. Consideration and approval of new members to join PWYP-Ghana and more. 

Publish What You Pay (PWYP) is a group of civil society organizations that advocates for financial transparency in the extractive industry. It is a registered charity in England and Wales and operates globally. The group wants companies to declare the amount of money being paid to governments for the rights to extract oil, gas, and other natural resources.
