The Founder of Fountain Gate Ministry, Rev. Eastwood Anaba, says the increasing rate of criminal activities is not a failure of the church and its pastors.

He acknowledges that one of the traditional functions of religion and Christianity for that matter, is to keep people from wrongdoing, however, those responsible for preventing the occurrence of crime in the country must be held accountable when they fail to perform their duties.

Speaking Wednesday night at the 2019 Experience Conference at The Maker’s House Chapel International, Pastor Eastwood, as he is popularly called, said it is expected that a country such as Ghana with a huge Christian population, will have relatively be fewer crimes.

“So [people say] all these churches and pastors are there and there is crime in Ghana; are we BNI [Bureau of National Investigations],” quizzed President of Eastwood Anaba Ministries (EAM).

“Jesus was alive and during his crucifixion, there were two thieves; one to his right [and] one to the left…” he added.

“At the end of the month, my church pays me to preach [and] Government of Ghana pays somebody who works in BNI or the Security Services to take care of security [so] why are you blaming me for security issues?”

Rev. Eastwood Anaba also challenged Christians to stand for their calling which he said, is to take the Gospel of Jesus to those who are yet to be reached.

“The greatest man that ever walked the face of the earth was a preacher – Jesus. The greatest man in the family and nation must be a preacher,” he stressed.

Experience Conference

The Experience Conference which is in its 5th year has become a major calendar event for the Christian community in Ghana, Africa and the world over.

This year’s conference started on Sunday, October 6, and runs till October 13 with new additions like Morning and Evening sessions on Saturday and Sunday, aside from the weeknight services which start at 6:30 pm daily.

The Conference is happening at the ultra-modern auditorium of The Maker’s House, Chapel International, located near the School of Nuclear and Allied Sciences, Atomic in Accra. The 2019 edition has consistently attracted thousands, including renowned Gospel Ministers, who converged to experience a Holy Ghost Revival in Ghana.
