Transparency International Ghana (TI-Ghana) and Honour Ghana and have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening integrity, promoting ethical leadership, and advancing values-based education across Ghana.
The partnership, formalised in Accra on Friday July 17,2026 seeks to combine the strengths of both organisations to support national efforts to build a society founded on transparency, accountability, and responsible citizenship.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, the Executive Director of Transparency International Ghana, Mrs. Mary Awelana Addah, described the partnership as a significant milestone in the collective effort to address corruption by promoting ethical values alongside institutional reforms.

She noted that while strong institutions and effective accountability mechanisms remain critical in the fight against corruption, long-term success also depends on investing in the values, attitudes, and behaviours that shape responsible citizenship.
“This partnership demonstrates our shared conviction that integrity must be cultivated from an early age. Addressing corruption requires more than robust institutions; it also demands sustained investment in values-based education that empowers young people to become ethical leaders and responsible citizens,” Mrs. Addah said.
According to her, the collaboration will enable both organisations to leverage their complementary expertise to promote integrity as a core national value while encouraging ethical conduct across public and private institutions.
Mrs. Addah explained that under the agreement, TI-Ghana and Honour Ghana will jointly implement programmes to promote integrity education among young people, strengthen ethical leadership within the education sector, encourage active citizenship, and support accountability and good governance through strategic engagement with stakeholders.
She expressed confidence that the partnership would help develop practical and sustainable approaches to embedding integrity and ethical values in schools, communities, and institutions across the country.
“The future of Ghana depends not only on the strength of our laws and institutions but also on the character of our people. Through this partnership, we hope to inspire a generation that values honesty, accountability, and service to the nation,” she added.
Mrs. Adda further underscored the importance of collaboration among civil society organisations in tackling complex governance challenges, saying lasting social change can only be achieved through coordinated action and shared commitment.
She observed that the partnership aligns with Ghana’s broader aspirations to strengthen ethical leadership, improve governance outcomes, and foster a culture of integrity that supports inclusive and sustainable national development.
Honour Ghana has been at the forefront of promoting values-based education and character development among young people, while Transparency International Ghana has, for more than two decades, championed transparency, accountability, and the fight against corruption.
The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding marks the beginning of a long-term partnership dedicated to advancing integrity, inspiring ethical leadership, and ensuring that transparency, accountability, and honour remain central to Ghana’s development agenda.
Dr Emmanuel Odame, Founder and chairman of Honour Ghana indicated that “the fight against corruption cannot be won solely through stronger laws or more institutions, must begin by shaping character, nurturing values.”
Dr Odame noted that the partnership is grounded in a simple but profound understanding that corruption is both systemic and value problem and that if “we strengthen institutions without shaping values, corruption simply finds new pathways.”
He told the press that the two organisations intend to improve ethical awareness and integrity behaviours among more 20,000 students.
He emphasizes that the MoU is not the end of a conversation, rather it is the beginning of a national movement, a movement that seeks to rebuild trust and to ensure ethical leadership.
He expressed appreciation to TI-Ghana for embracing the partnership with openness, trust and shared sense of purpose.
