Project Evolve donates to Sekondi female Prisons

Project Evolve, a Non – Governmental Organization, kick -started the year 2019 with a donation of assorted food items worth hundreds of Ghana Cedis to the Sekondi Female Prisons.

 

The items including, Bags of Rice, Cooking Oil, bottled and sachet water, soft drinks among others were received by DSP Daffour, Commander of the Sekondi Female Prison and other prison officials who expressed delight about the kind gesture.

The NGO also had an interactive session with the prisoners, a motivational session and sharing of gifts. The donation marked Project Evolve’s first activity on the calendar for this year.

 

Project Evolve is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), which seeks to provide after care and Re-integrate reformed ex-convicts back into the society through counseling, Job creation and vocational training. Its mission is to help reduce recidivism and stigmatization of ex-convicts which would enable them become useful citizens and contribute to nation building.

 

The project was launched on Saturday, 20th October 2018 at the Sekondi Central Prisons. Supporting the initiative are, The Member of Parliament for the Sekondi Constituency, Hon. Mercer Andrew Kofi Egyapa; The Western Regional Prison Commander, D.O.P Rabbles of the Ghana Prisons Headquarters and the Prisons service.
