As if the exploits of Samuel Safo of the Ghana Police Service with the Black Stars of Ghana is not enough, another police officer at the Nsawam District Police Headquarters has emerged and poised to take Ghana football by storm.

Sumaila Iddrisu, a two-footed bulky player who stands at 6.15’ft tall is making waves within the Nsawam Municipality and its environs with his versatility and game- changing characteristics.

Sumaila’s footballing attributes include effective ball control, ability to dribble, speed, power , aerial abilities and capable of scoring goals from long range.

Following his development over the last few years, the 1990 born Sumaila Iddrisu is naturally a defensive midfielder and has additional capabilities of playing as a Centre Back as well as a striker; depending on how the technical team wants to use his talent.

A former student of Tamale Polytechnic, Sumaila Iddrisu is currently a member of the Ghana National Police Soccer Team and has participated in the Security Service Sports Association (SESSA) games.

He has previously played for Darmang United and Nsawam United, both division two clubs in the Eastern Regional Football Association league.

He has also had trials with elite clubs including Kumasi Asante Kotoko, King Faisal Football club, Real Tamale United and recently with Rwandan premier league side S.C. Kiyovu Sports.

According to reports gathered by Public Agenda from our source in Kigali, Rwanda, Sumaila Iddrisu was fantastic during the trials and scored some important goals in kiyovu’s test matches. However, both parties were unable to put pen to paper due to some contractual misunderstanding.

Speaking to Public Agenda when he returned from Rwanda recently, the utility players said kiyovu was prepared to sign him but other managerial problems thwarted the move.

The former Nsawam United player who is stationed at the Nsawam Police Headquarters and has scored several goals in his playing career says he is open for discussion with any club that is interested in his signature in the upcoming football season.
