12 Schools in Asokore Traditional Area receive 7000 books, other educational materials

Nana SKB Foundation, a non-governmental Organization in collaboration with the Mary Adjei Educational Trust and some philanthropist of Asokore have donated educational materials worth thousands of Ghana Cedis to some selected schools in the Asokore Traditional Area in the Sekyere East District of the Ashanti Region.

The educational materials distributed included 7000 copies of customized exercise books, pens, chalks and markers.

The move, according to the donors was to encourage and motivate the pupils to study hard for their future well-being in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The beneficiary schools include Asokore Methodist JHS, Trinity D/ A JHS , R / C JHS, SDA JHS, T.I Ahmadiyya JHS, Islamic Orientation JHS, Hamdaniya JHS, Nazir JHS, Asantewaa Prep/JHS, Akokoaso JHS, Ahensan JHS and Naama JHS.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Nana SKB Foundation, Mr. Gyimah Minkah Andrews, submitted that the aim of foundation is to open a bright educational future for the youth of Asokore especially those at the basic level.

Mr Daniel Baah Appeadu, the deputy CEO of the Foundation used the occasion of the distribution to congratulate Miss Ernestina Konadu of Asokore D / A Trinity JHS for emerging the best BECE student in the Asokore Circuit. That, according to Mr Appeadu is a testimony that the free long vacation classes and other educational programmes carried out by the Foundation over the period is yielding positive results.

Nana Osei Appiah Kubi, the Akyepemhene of Asokore Traditional Area on behalf of Nana Susubribi Krobea Asante (Asokoremanhene) thanked and acknowledged the sponsors for such kind gesture.

The sponsors include Mary Adjei Educational Trust, Nana Mpeanim Agyemang Nimo, Prof. Daniel K. Afriyie, Dr. Danso Asante, Dr. Naeed Ahmed, Mr. Charles Gyimah, Mr. Isaac Kwadwo Gyimah, Mr. Obeng Adjinah, Mrs. Patience Owusu Antwi, Mr. Owusu Agyabeng, Hon. Samuel Konadu, and Mr. Elvis Darkwah.

On his part. Mr. William Brako Agyapong, the Director of Education of the Sekyere East District on behalf of the heads of the selected schools thanked the foundation and the sponsors for the wonderful assistance and promised to put the items donated into good use.

Nana SKB Foundation is a non-governmental, non-profit organization which was incorporated and commenced on 6th June, 2017, with the core objectives centered on education (formal and informal) and Child protection. It is dedicated to the upliftment of the welfare of the youth and the vulnerable of Asokore Traditional Area in the Ashanti region through the mobilization and efficient utilization of resources.

The Foundation has the distinction of being managed by a core of highly motivated young men and women including some who have overcome the challenges of Physical disability and are acting as inspiring role models in the community.

Before and after incorporation, the enthusiastic support of volunteers and other corporate bodies helped visualize in organizing a free vacation classes, health screening, inter school quiz competition, child protection programs and donation of educational materials to schools in the Asokore Traditional area.
