Police Service to embark on ‘operation produce your driver’s licence’ soon

he Ashanti Regional Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) is poised to embark on a special operation dubbed “operation produce your driver’s licence” next month, specifically, February 3, 2020.

This initiative is to help reduce the rampant road accidents that occur within the Ashanti Region.

In a press release sighted by GhanaWeb and signed by Superintendent Emmanuel Adu Boahen, it highlighted that this operation yet to be carried out is in accordance with the Regulation 47 of the Road Traffic Regulation L.I 2180/2012.

The operation is targeted at ensuring that only qualified drivers are allowed on the road to reduce the alarming rate of accidents that occurs in the country, especially on the Accra-Kumasi road.

The police are meanwhile, appealing to drivers in the region to carry their licence with them as they drive to be free from any trouble.
