A final year student of the Assin Manso Senior High School (AMASS) met his untimely death when he went to swim in the Okyi River at Assin Manso in the Central Region of Ghana, on Friday, February 8,2019.
According to Sargeant Mark Owusu of the Ghana Police Service, Assin Manso, on that fateful day, the victim took advantage of the Central Regional Zone five schools and colleges athletics competition held at the AMASS and disguised himself by wearing T-shirt of Assin Adankwaman Senior High School. This enabled him to evade the AMASS security men at the school’s main gate.

Sergeant Owusu, told Public Agenda, that the deceased, Ebenezer Owusu Ansah, a 17 – year old final year Business student, and a member of Gaise House , was in the company of his friends, John Enninful, 17 and Godfred Bismarck Agbamadu, 22, all final year day students of AMASS.
Narrating the incident to the police, Bismark and John said that, they warned the deceased against swimming in deeper parts of the Okyi River, but he did not heed their advice and jumped into the river in which he eventually got drowned.
According to them, when they realized that the deceased was drowning, they run to the police station to report the incident. Upon receiving the complaint, the police went to the scene with a diver who retrieved the body of Ebenezer Owusu Ansah in an unconscious state.
The police quickly rushed him to the St. Francis Xavier Hospital at Assin Foso. Unfortunately he was pronounced dead on arrival. The body of the deceased is currently at the morgue at St. Francis Xavier Hospital.

According to Lance Corporal Nyarko Williams of the Nkanfoa police station, residents of Nkanfoa alleged that Ntim and two other accomplices had kidnapped three children who could not be accounted for. He also stated that due to the huge irate crowd that besieged the Nkanfoa police station, the Nkanfoa police had no option to than all for reinforcement from the Central Regional Police Command, which took Ntim to the central regional police station to assist the police in further investigations.
