The Government Statistician, Dr Alhassan Iddrisu has said that in March 2026, building inflation slowed further to 2.2 percent year-on-year.
his was down from 2.4 percent in February 2026.

He said this new statistics marked eleven consecutive months of decline.
At the same time, Dr Iddrisu said, prices rose by 0.8 percent between February and March 2026, showing that short-term cost pressures still exist.

“What this tells us is simple: overall cost pressures in construction are easing, but some inputs, especially materials and equipment, continue to push prices up,” he said during a press conference in Accra on Wednesday April 29.
“We also commend the dedicated staff of the Ghana Statistical Service whose commitment ensures the production of timely, accurate, and credible statistics.
