The World Trade Centre Accra (WTC Accra)  is expected to  announce a series of activities in support of Government of Ghana’s “Beyond the Return, The Diaspora Dividend” Initiative. The activities will be geared towards highlighting economic opportunities for Africans living in the diaspora and collaborating with Ghanaian public institutions to facilitate participation in these opportunities.

Consequently, WTC Accra,a licensee of the World Trade Centers Association, New York, will leverage its membership of the 328-member global network of WTCs in about 100 countries around the world to attract trade and economic delegations to Ghana as well as design tour schedules that highlight economic/investment opportunities across the country.

H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, President of the Republic of Ghana, launched the“Beyond the Return, The Diaspora Dividend” Initiativeas a follow up to the hugely successful“Year of Return”Initiativewhich sawa tremendous number of visitors from the African diasporavisiting Ghana in 2019.

WTC Accra is of the view that government’s objectives for launching the “Beyond the Return, The Diaspora Dividend” Initiative are laudable and consistent with WTC Accra’s own mantra of promoting “prosperity through trade”. WTC Accra is therefore well-placed to be Government’s lead partner in the implementation of the Initiative.

This year, the WTC Accra says it “will implement a comprehensive program of activities geared towards creating global opportunities for local businesses as well as creating a soft-landing pad for international businesses seeking opportunities to participate in Ghana’s economy. These activities will include two-way trade missions, capacity-building workshops and seminars and flagship programs such as the International Trade Accelerator Program (ITAP) which will leverage WTC Accra’s global connections to create export opportunities for local SMEs.”

WTC Accra will also seek to collaborate with government to position Ghana as a leading MICE destination leading up to the 2021 General Assembly of the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA) which will be held in Accra, Ghana.
