Coronavirus: 176 new infections confirmed in Ghana, case count now 9,638

The Ghana Health Service has announced that the country’s Coronavirus case count has increased to 9,638 following the confirmation of 176 new infections.

This comes barely a day after 294 new infections were recorded.

89 more persons, according to the GHS have recovered, bringing the number of recoveries to 3,636.

The death toll remains 44, leaving the country with 5,958 active cases.

The Greater Accra region remains the epicenter with 6,309 infections, followed by the Ashanti region which has 1,645 cases.

The rest are:

Western Region – 624

Central Region – 489

Eastern Region – 166

Volta Region – 102

Western North Region – 74

Upper East Region – 42

Northern Region – 37

Oti Region – 28

Upper West Region – 22

Bono East Region – 7

North East Region – 2

Savannah Region – 1

Bono Region – 1

Ahafo Region – 0
