Buduburam: Four feared dead following rock blasting by construction company

A tragic incident has occurred on the Buduburam stretch of the Accra-Winneba highway after a rock blasted by a construction company working on the road caused extensive damage.

Four persons are feared dead, and several others are in critical condition following the incident.

Citi News sources say the rock blast which lasted for a few minutes was done after several vehicles on the stretch were halted for the activity to take place.

This is not the first time rocks have been blasted on the Budumburam section of the highways according to residents of the area.

They say the blasting of the rock most of the time destroys the roofing sheets of houses around the Big Apple area when the construction work is happening.

Some angry residents of the area after the incident attacked workers of the company working on that stretch

Citi News understands that a Chinese man who is leading the team has been arrested. The injured have been rushed to the St Gregory Hospital in Buduburam
