Ghana National Education Campaign Coalition (GNECC)held a press conference in Accra toannounce the dismissal of Mr Kofi Asare as the chairman of the coalition following investigation which revealed that he came to the office based on false information with regards to the constitution of GNECC.

This has led to instability in the activities of the coalition as he still holds himself on different platforms as chairman of the coalition whilst writing to make false allegations to donor organisations against the coalition he claims he is chairing.

Speaking at the press conference, Mr Joseph Atsu Homadzi said that Mr Asare no longer chairs’ the coalition and therefore cautioned the public not to do business with him in the name of the organisation, as they do so on their own risk.

He disclosed that, Mr Asare’s appointment was terminated on the 13th of August 2019.

He added that, he (Mr Homadzi) has been appointed as the Acting chairman for the next one year.

He pleaded with members in the Central and Asante region using the organisation’s Logo for their personal interest to stop, stating that the logo is the property of GNECC and does not belong to any individual or group of people.

‘’we will soon be taking legal actions against individuals or group of persons using the Logo of the Coalition for their personal interest.’’

Mr Homadzi Further urged donors to have trust and confidence to work with the coalition effectively.

Ghana National Education Campaign Coalition (GNECC) is a network of civil society organizations, professional groupings, education/research institutions and other practitioners working to promote equitable access to quality, enjoyable and inclusive pre-tertiary education in Ghana.
